Akhtal-Teke World's #1 Breed

3.png

Akhal-Teke has many unique features. Different look. Metallic sheen, high gloss and silky hair. The shiny coat of palominos and buckskins led to their nickname "Golden Horses". Different trot. Unlike other horses’ two-beat rhythm, Akhal-Teke steps down with each foot individually.

Virtually unknown and unheard of in the United States, Akhal-Teke’s country of origin is Turkmenistan where the horse is part of the national emblem. Being praised as the racing horses by famous Greek and Roman historians, Akhal-Teke is bred for speed, beauty size and strength.

In fact, Akhal-Teke is so unique that it is listed as threatened on the Conservancy’s Conservation Priority List. With their reputation for speed, endurance and intelligence, Akhal-Teke are often used for sporting and racing, they are good at dressage, show jumping, eventing and endurance riding.
